Thorough and recent market research indicates that the two cities are national leaders in developing green enterprise in manufacturing, renewable energy, building systems management and construction/deconstruction - and well positioned for further growth in these sectors. Through its participant-focused collaborative program model, RENEW is truly a regional strategy to provide pathways out of poverty for 500 disadvantaged job seekers. Participants will exit the program with degrees, diplomas and certifications that have been demonstrated to meet the workforce needs of RENEW employer partners and the green business community at large.4000000.00Over the quarter ending September 30, 2012, the Pathways Project completed its peformance period. RENEW program administrators perform fiscal management functions. They oversee subgrantee functioning and ensure guidlelines are adhered to by developing and disseminateing technical guidance to subgrantees, specific to grant coordination and communication. Additionally, they facilitate the development of business and participant outreach materials, including both collateral printed resources and a project website. Grant administrators lead business outreach efforts, connecting subgrantees to opportunities in the expanding, metro-wide green jobs marketplace. Employment service providers function as subgrantees. Their primary role is to recruit participants, assess and refer participants to training, provide case managements services, and assist participants to gain and retain employment in green occupations.
